The Appropriate Degree of Detail

Since the wireframe-images were to be used in small vignettes, finding the appropriate degree of detail was crucial. Actual CAD data was too complex for this purpose, so the CAD look was recreated with simplified 3d models.

Reduced variants bordering on pictographs were created for particularly small-scale use.

Grey or colored emphases? Tighter or wider meshes? Thinner or broader lines? Self-masking or transparency? Everything was varied.
